When Should You Order Your Wedding Veil?
The dress gets all the attention in the early months of wedding planning. The veil tends to get added to the list later - sometimes much later. And while veils don't require fittings the way a gown does, ordering one last-minute from a made-to-order brand is a gamble most brides don't realise they're taking.
Here's what the timeline actually looks like.

If you want to do this properly
The Ideal Window Is 3–5 Months Out
This is the sweet spot. You've likely already chosen your dress, which means you can choose a veil that complements it - the right length, the right texture, the right weight. Ordering this far in advance also gives you time to bring the veil to your hair trial, which changes things more than most brides expect. Seeing how the veil sits with your actual hairstyle often leads to length adjustments, or the realisation that you want a blusher layer after all. Having it in hand before that appointment means you can make those calls without stress.

The Minimum Timeline Is 6-8 Weeks Before Your Wedding
For made-to-order veils, this is as close as you want to cut it. Production takes time - our current timeline is listed on each product page - and shipping adds to that. If you're ordering internationally, factor in customs and transit.
If you're inside this window and feeling anxious, reach out before you order. At TEMPÊTE, we accommodate rush orders when we can - just get in touch first to confirm availability.

More time means more options
Why Ordering Early Is Always Worth It
A veil purchased with enough lead time gives you options. You can have it steamed before the wedding. You can bring it to your dress fitting to check proportions. You can take photos at home with your hair up to see how it photographs. A veil that arrives the week before your wedding leaves very little room for any of that - and none at all if something isn't right.

What to Have Ready Before You Order
A few things will make choosing significantly easier: your dress silhouette (particularly whether it has a train, a detailed back, or heavy embellishment - all of which affect veil length), your venue (outdoor ceremonies call for different choices than a formal indoor space), and a general sense of length. Our veil length guide covers this in detail if you're still deciding.

You know what you want - now act on it
Browsing and Ordering Are Different Timelines
Many brides spend months looking at veils before committing. That's completely normal. But if you've been saving images of pearl veils for three months, that's your sign to stop browsing and start deciding.
Our Amarelle Pearl Veil and Floral Trim Tulle Veil are two of our most consistently ordered styles, both available in multiple lengths to suit different dress and venue combinations.
Ready to complete your look?
All TEMPÊTE veils are made to order in our Vancouver studio, which means the earlier you reach out, the more time we have to get it right. Shop the collection online or to take it off your wedding list.
